Womyn, womxn, wimmin...etc--you’ve probably heard these versions of woman/women. But what is the reason for these variations?

wom·yn

ˈwimin/

noun

  1. nonstandard spelling of “women” adopted by some feminists in order to avoid the word ending -men.

Because we are not watered down men. We, as womyn, do not have to rely on men because we are self-reliant. We have as much capability as men do. One is not above the other, nor should it be. But we, as womyn, are belittled, treated as objects, and not people.

we

are our own; we do not condone the violence that flashes out of spite,

rather we drive the passion that we heighten.

we

have the capability; we aim for the target,

but reach far beyond it.

we

are much more; we build off of the knowledge we accumulate

and empower one another.

we

rise together.
